Faith
Faith is an adorable little goat, born at Animal Acres in February 2009. Her mother, Hope, and three other goats came to Animal Acres after they received an urgent call to assist suffering farmed animals that had been abandoned, victims of one of the many home foreclosures occurring is Southern California. Unfortunately, just like cats and dogs, farm animals fall victim to abandonment during crises.
Faith’s mother was severely emaciated when we discovered her and was found thrashing around on her side amid broken bottles and other trash. The goats had been left for weeks with no food or water, and Hope’s hooves were so severely overgrown, it is likely the reason she could not stand or walk. She received immediate medical attention and was brought back to the sanctuary for an intensive hoof trimming.
As if Hope’s survival wasn’t a miracle enough, the day after she arrived at the sanctuary she went into labor and gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby, Faith. Thanks to donor support, Hope was provided with a safe place to deliver her baby and a home for Faith to live in peace and happiness, receiving all the love that she so very much deserves. Her story really is a miraculous one.
